The SMR developers that led Tuesday reversed hard — Oklo down 4%, NuScale down 3% — while the reactor-equipment and services names with actual revenue firmed.

Wednesday was a mirror image of Tuesday. The small-modular-reactor developers that had led the prior session gave it all back: Oklo fell −4.0% to $45.13 and NuScale −3.0% to $9.59, with NANO Nuclear −1.9% to $19.01 and Lightbridge −1.9% to $8.89 alongside. This was profit-taking, not a thesis break — the same pre-revenue reactor-technology names that jumped 6–8% a day earlier on commercialization optimism cooled into NuScale's Q2 print, which lands against financials that remain thin and pre-commercial. The reactor-design chokepoint — a certified design paired with a signed offtaker — is exactly the kind of story-stock exposure that swings hardest in both directions, and the market took the other side of it.

The leadership rotated to the part of the fuel-and-build chain that already ships product. GE Vernova rose +2.8% to $1,039.90 at the turbine-island choke, Curtiss-Wright +2.5% to $723.71 in naval-reactor and AP1000 components, and BWX Technologies +1.7% to $172.56 at the reactor-forgings-and-HALEU layer. That trio moving together while the developers fell is the session's structural signal: capital rotating from the names selling a future reactor to the names selling the pressure vessels, turbines and fuel that any reactor — SMR or gigawatt-scale — has to buy. It is the "build the plant" chokepoint asserting itself over the "design the plant" story.

The front end of the fuel cycle was mixed and offered no offsetting bid. Centrus slipped −2.2% to $185.06 at the domestic-enrichment choke and Cameco was flat at +0.3% to $99.03, with no fresh uranium or HALEU headline to lift the miners and converters. There was no sector-wide catalyst in either direction; this was a rotation within the basket rather than a repricing of the nuclear-power thesis, which still rests on the same AI-and-datacenter electricity demand that has underwritten the group all year.

The near-term calendar keeps the revenue test front and center. X-Energy reports Q2 on August 13, Solstice Advanced Materials follows September 2, and the World Nuclear Symposium convenes in London September 9–11. Further out, the NRC's final Environmental Impact Statement for GLE's Paducah laser-enrichment facility remains a second-half fuel-cycle catalyst, BWXT prints Q3 on November 2, and the Xe-100 construction-permit review hits an 18-month NRC milestone in December. The watch item is unchanged: whether the SMR developers can convert commercialization talk into definitive, funded offtake before the next earnings cycle forces the question again.
